01/05/07	AGM	AGM is on Monday 12th May, 7.30pm, at the Fromeway, Radstock. On the agenda is a request to ratify amendments to the constitution. Please take the opportunity to read the constitution here.
08/09/07	Results for first week	Saturday saw the start of the Avon 2007/08 season and Wanderers and Vigors were both playing at Warmley School. With new line-ups and some missing faces it was going to be a tough week, but Wanderers managed a good win (42-16) against Georgians 2 with Laura K stepping in to be a much needed reserve on a hot day. Congratulations to Nat for getting player of the match. Vigors were not so successful and lost 15-28 to Fry 4. Despite working very hard they were missing players in key positions and succumbed to Fry. Well done to Chris for stepping in when Julie had to leave with an injury, and thanks to Gemma for playing one last match before leaving for Uni.
06/09/07	Another grant received	Thanks to Julie's hard work yet again, we've received a grant of just under seven hundred pounds to be spent on equipment. This was based on a list of equipment we identified that the club required, and now we have the money we can go buy it. Huge thanks to HSBC for the grant.
22/08/07	Handbooks now available	This season's handbook, including fixtures are now available from Julie. Please ensure you collect one.
14/07/07	Chilcompton Village Day	Chilcompton Netball Club took part in the Chilcompton Village Day to raise awareness for the club and help raise funds. The day was a big success with the stall offering the chance to make your own bracelets and keyrings, a spot the ball competition and a netball shooting competition. To everyone who expressed an interest in joining the club.... we hope to see you soon!
09/07/07	U15 Pontins 2007	This year Chilcompton took a squad of 12 to take part in the U15 section of the Pontins tournament at Brean. Lauren L and Carmel captained the side made up of Laura, Sascha, Lauren G, Abi G, Kelly, Marie, Becky J, Becky C, Megan and Chloe. The squad played really well, playing at a much faster pace than they're used to, but still managing to win three games, drawing one, and coming close on several other occasions. As usual the Saturday night involved a trip to Brean Leisure Park. Thanks to all the parents who came and helped out, and to Anna who assisted greatly, Rachael for umpiring, Julie for organising the trip and the coaches Chris, Amy, Shelley and Nicola. Photo of squad

20/05/07	Committee Meeting	The Committee are meeting 7.30 at the Fromeway on Monday 22 June. If you want any issues raised, please notify a committee member.
20/05/07	Summer League Results	The first Chilcompton Summer League has ended with Chilcompton 3 taking the honours. The final positions were: 1st - Chilcompton 3; 2nd Chilcompton 2; 3rd Timsbury; 4th Paulton; 5th Chilcompton 1; Withdrawn Wells. Congratulations to all teams that took part. 31/05/07	Summer League fixtures	Summer league fixtures have been published and are available on the fixtures page. Each team will play 2 matches of 30 mins (15 each way) each night. Umpires should have attended at least their beginners course, and to encourage umpires we do not mind them swapping at half time. Chilcompton are entering 3 teams, but these will be a mixture of players from the various squads.




21/05/07	Senior Final League positions	Avon Netball have produced the final league tables. The standings for the senior teams are:

		Wanderers - 9th in Div 4
		Vigors - 5th in Div 9
		The Avon Presentation night and AGM is Tuesday 22nd May at The Grange School.

12/05/07	Presentation Night	The 2007 Presentation Night and Disco was held on 12th May at Welton Rovers. The night was great fun, with a BBQ provided by the Stephens family and Colin Love. A big thanks to everyone who helped out on the event. The winners of the awards this season were as follows:

		U12 players:	All U12 players were awarded certificates to recognise their effort and improvement since joining the club.
		Presentations were also made to Jemma Youdle and Sarah Hallet who are leaving the area to go to university, to the coaches as a thank-you for their contribution, a presentation to Chris Love for all her hard work and also Julie Stephens for organising the evening.
